Newtown won there first senior hurling title in 2000, beating Erins Own on a scoreline of 0-14 to 0-11. This was one of the greatest years in the clubs history. The side was captained by Donal Mulcahy and the team brought the Séan Óg Murphy cup home to Newtown for the first time.
On Saturday night we will honour this team in the Charleville Park Hotel.
